April 11, 2025

The Task Force to Combat Anti-Semitism sends Harvard a letter making certain demands.

April 14, 2025

Harvard responds, both publicly and privately, that they will not comply with the demands in the April 11 letter.

Later that same day, the U.S. Department of education announced a freeze order for $2.2 billion in multi-year grants and $60M in multi-year contract value to Harvard University.

April 16, 2025

The Trump administration issues a directive to the IRS to review Harvard's tax exempt status

April 21, 2025

Harvard files a lawsuit, requesting that the freeze order and the demand's set forth in the letter dated April 11 be vacated.

April 28, 2025

Judge Burrough's holds a status conference to establish the schedule for the lawsuit proceedings.

May 5, 2025

The Secretary of Education sent a letter to Harvard that "marks the end of new grants to the university."

May 12, 2025

As first reported in the Free Beacon, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission charged Harvard with violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

May 22, 2025

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revokes Harvard's ability to enroll foreign students.

May 23, 2025

Harvard sues DHS to restore their ability to enroll foreign students.

Judge Burrough's issues a temporary restraining order (TRO) that sets aside the DHS revocation of May 22.

July 21, 2025

A hearing is held to hear oral arguments for summary judgement for and against Harvard's motion that the freeze order and April 11th demands be vacated.
